1How do I get there?

Road Route 1 (433 Kms): Delhi – Hapur – Moradabad – Ramnagar (Corbett National Park) – Ranikhet – Kausani.(Approximately 13 hours)

Road Route 2 (405 Kms): Delhi – Hapur – Moradabad – Rampur – Haldwani – Kathgodam – Bhimtaal – Bhawali – Khairna – Almora – Kausani. (Approximately 11 hours)

By Rail: Kathgodam is the nearest railway station to Kausani situated at a distance of 132kms. Kathgodam is well connected by Railway networks with major destinations of India like Lucknow, Delhi and Kolkata. Trains are frequent to Kathgodam as it is the gateway of Kumaon region. Buses and Taxis are easily available to Kausani from Kathgodam.

By Air: The nearest airport for Kausani is Pantnagar. Pantnagar Airport is situated 162kms from Kausani. Taxis are available to Kausani, Haldwani, Nainital and Almora from Pant Nagar Airport.

By Bus: Kausani is very well connected by state owned bus services. Bus services connect Kausani to other hill stations like Almora, Ranikhet, Nainital and Pithoragarh. Many overnight buses owned by private companies ply between New Delhi and Kausani.

2Is the resort child-friendly?

The Buransh is amply stocked with classic board games such as Monopoly, Ludo Chess, Tambola that will keep the entire family entertained. We also have a small set-up to play Badminton and Cricket. A wide range of book collection in our library will keep your child engaged in the world of imagination. We encourage families to engage in gardening, hiking and photography with the hosts. Please note that children need to be supervised around the terrace area .Parents are advised to keep kids away from the terrace. If needed, there is also a basic first-aid kit, stocked with Dettol and Band-Aid etc., for minor injuries.

3Is this resort senior citizen friendly?

Accessing this property might be slightly difficult for senior citizens. The resort is 150 m away from the main road. Mobile senior citizens are advised to be cautious. We provide complimentary Jeep service to and fro the resort from the main road to all our guests. For mobile senior citizens, there are two bedrooms on the ground floor which are easily accessible. Our history of service tells us that senior citizens are the ones who thoroughly enjoy The Buransh to its best.

4Is the resort wheelchair accessible?

No, the upper floor suites of the property are not wheelchair-friendly. To access the upper floor suites, guests need to climb a meandering flight of 20-odd steps to access each floor equipped with railing. We have designed 2 special suites on the ground floor.

5Is the place pet-friendly?

Yes, property is pets friendly, but they are kept in a separate area.

Room specifics

1What type of beds, mattresses do you have?

Every room has been furnished with a king sized bed and the bed sheets are changed every third day.

2Do you provide toiletries and bath towels?

Yes. Bathrooms are equipped with special Buransh toiletries.

3Is the resort air-conditioned?

Being a hill station we don’t have air-conditioned rooms. All our rooms are equipped with fan and table fan.

4What facilities are available to keep the room warm?

All our rooms are equipped with an electric blanket(bed warmer).We even provide room heaters on request.

5Is there Internet/ 3G/ WiFi connection available onsite?

Yes, we provide 3G WiFi connection

6Do you have a problem with mosquitoes? How do you deal with it to make our stay more comfortable?

All of the rooms have been furnished with All-out machines. Guests are advised to shut the windows by 5.30 / 7.30 pm to avoid mosquitoes. If needed, the resort has Odomos on site.

Food and Beverages

1Are meals provided onsite?

Tariff is inclusive of breakfast and dinner. Lunch will be at an additional cost. Tea/coffee is complimentary only with breakfast. Please note that meals cannot be served or eaten in the bedrooms. All day snacks are available and can be served in the bedrooms.

2What is the type of cuisine served?

We specialize in Kumaoni , Jain and Gujarati cuisine. We also prepare delicious Chinese, South and North Indian cuisine.

3Is outside food allowed? Are we allowed to cook ourselves?

Guests are not allowed to access the kitchen. However, should the guests want to order in, the property has food menus on hand. Mothers of small children and infants will have limited access to the kitchen to boil milk or prepare food.

4Do you have a Bar?

We don’t have a Bar within the property as it’s a dry area. We allow alcohol consumption, within limits.

3How can I make a payment?

Reservation can be done on e-mail, but the confirmation will be given only after receiving 50% of the package amount in advance.

5How can I make payments onsite, at the home?
We do accept these payments through PayTM, credit card or cash.

House Rules

1Do you allow loud music?

Playing loud music is permitted during the day and early evening. At night, guests are requested to respect our neighbors and keep the noise levels mild and within the villa.

2Is smoking / alcohol consumption permitted?

Yes, smoking is allowed but not inside the room. If you wish to smoke, please do so outside in the garden/lawn area. Alcohol consumption is permitted within limits. We do not encourage late night revelry or loud music.

3What are the Check-in & Check-out timings? May I request for late check-outs or an early check-in?

Check-in time at 12 pm and check-out time is 10 am. Please note that check-out timings are strict as we need to ready the rooms for our next booking. Guests are requested to respect the timing of other guests as well. In case you wish to check in a little early or check out a little late, do inform us at the time of booking. Additional charges will be applied.

4What formalities are needed during check-in and check-out?

As required by law, all adults have to provide their government-approved Photo IDs (that clearly show their residential address) at the time of Check-in. Your co-operation is of utmost importance to us.


1Is there a security guard / watchman?

No, but there are two caretakers always available at the resort.

2Are the premises monitored using CCTVs?


3Can stray dogs enter the premises?

Yes, stray dogs can enter the premises on occasion. However, should a stray dog enter, inform the caretaker and he will address the issue.

4Is the property properly fenced? Is there a boundary wall?

There is no concrete wall or fencing around the property but there is a lining of trees surrounding the villa.

5Is there First-aid kit available at your Home?

Yes, we do have a first-aid kid onsite, stocked with Dettol, band-aids and over-the-counter medicines like Metacin, Crocin etc.


1Who manages the Resort?

Your hosts are Mr. and Mrs. Kapoor.


1Is drivers' accommodation available? Meals available?

Accommodation is available. Breakfast and Dinner are complimentary. Lunch is for INR 50/-.

2Is there separate accommodation for domestic help?
There is no separate accommodation available for domestic help. They will be charged as an extra guest.
3Is parking available onsite or nearby? Is it chargeable or free?
Yes, parking is available on the property itself.
4Is the resort suitable for a day picnic?

The resort has an open area that could be used for outdoor picnic activities. There is also an available space to erect small stage, stall or tent for your event purpose. Guests will be allowed to use the washrooms at the resort. Meals will be provided on site at an additional charge (per person, per meal).

5Can I reserve your place for special functions such as engagement ceremony, a small wedding ceremony or a birthday party, etc?

Yes, we do allow events/shoots at the resort. Meals can be arranged at an additional cost (per person, per day). If you wish to book our home for functions/shoots, please send a message to the host on our website or send us an email at theburansh@gmail.com

6Can I reserve your resort for a few weeks for a Film or a Photo or an Advertisement shoot?
Yes, we allow the home to be reserved for professional shoots.
